You must provide the following:

  1. Proof of graduation from a psychiatric nursing education program. (photocopy of graduation certificate or diploma)
  2. Proof of identity (photocopy of birth certificate). If you register under a name other than that shown on your birth certificate and/or diploma, you must provide additional proof as applicable. (copy of marriage certificate, driver's licence)
  3. Completed criminal record check.

The active practising fees for a licence for the period January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 are:

According to our legislation, you must register with the RPNAS within four years from your date of graduation. After that time, you will no longer be eligible for registration. The titles registered psychiatric nurse, RPN, psychiatric nurse, PN, graduate psychiatric nurse and GPN are protected and may only be used by individuals holding practising status with the RPNAS.

Upon successful completion of the RPNAS Registration Examination you must complete the Registration Renewal Form, Application for Registration Form, and Criminal Record Check Form and return to the RPNAS office along with your cheque or money order. Registration will not be granted until all requirements are met.
